Los Angeles is still reeling from January’s deadly wildfires — and with the World Cup soccer championships and the 2028 Olympics on the horizon — Mayor Karen Bass has been urging residents to come together to revitalize LA’s image.

ICE raids are still taking place as protests over those raids continue in Los Angeles. CBS News immigration and politics reporter Camilo Montoya-Galvez has more.

An immigration sweep at the Santa Ana Home Depot was one of several reported in Southern California over the past week. The raids led to protests, some of which turned violent in downtown Los Angeles. Law enforcement officers have used flash-bang stun grenades, rubber bullets and tear gas on the crowds.

As Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids continue across the Los Angeles area, some homebuilding industry players are nervous about labor shortages.
