Authorities say a bloodhound picked up Grant Hardin’s scent shortly after prison guards learned that he’d slipped past a gate.

It’s never awesome when the police say they aren’t feeling particularly confident about capturing an escaped murderer. Even less so when that murderer is a former police sheriff nicknamed “Devil in the Ozarks.

Grant Hardin "should never have had a chance to escape. He’s killed somebody and he’s raped somebody," one resident said.
