Despite failing to win our group, Chelsea managed to end up with a more favorable draw, at least on paper, in the knockout rounds of the Club World Cup, having to play Benfica instead of Bayern Munich in the Round of 16. Of course, Benfica did beat Bayern in their group match, so perhaps the favor won’t prove so favorable in the end.

Chelsea and Manchester City are on the same side of the draw for the Club World Cup round of 16 as the route to the final has now been revealed. City sealed an impressive 5-2 win over Juventus on Thursday to finish top of Group G and are the only team in the competition who won all three of their group matches.

Pedro Neto has scored two goals in two games at the 2025 Club World Cup where he is earning his Chelsea future.
