According to a Bloomberg report, Meta has convinced Apple’s head of AI models, Ruoming Pang, to hop on board Meta’s AI train. Pang is expected to join Meta and be part of Mark Zuckerberg’s recently formed superintelligence unit.

Meta has hired Ruoming Pang, Apple’s head of AI models, to join its Superintelligence Labs division. This follows a wave of high-profile hires from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google as Meta builds its AGI team.

Ruoming Pang previously ran Apple's in-house team that trained the AI foundation models that underpin Apple Intelligence and other on-device AI features.
